TEXT OF PAGE 3. OF CHRISTMAS, 1989 (FEBRUARY 7, 1992)... STATEMENT TO "IRANGATE" INDEPENDENT COUNSEL LAWRENCE E. WALSH:

As such, there are likely numerous knowledgeable authorities involved in the current Middle East peace process wondering when i'm going to send them the "summaries" of what i contributed beyond the original 1978 work as we promised. them in 1978.
...As i point out in the original statement to you...Dr. Abdel-Meguid, the new "Arab League" SECRETARY-GENERAL, is the Egyptian authority i kept in touch with after the 1978 work, and Boutros Ghali, the new UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY-GENERAL, was formerly his deputy.
For the very obvious reason--i want to provide both of them with evidence that i am following through with the necessary steps to provide them with what my 1990 resumé reiterates was promised to them in 1978.
To do otherwise may explain why someone else chose to go the "Almost a world war" route rather than the path of diplomatic resolution: Saddam Hussein.
I can't see the sense in continuing the present policy against him. Until the Arabs and Moslems of the world are given the truth about what caused "Irangate"--and you have here in copies of the August, 1986 statement to "The Arab League" and the Christmas, 1987 documents to P.W. Botha the key items needed--the current policy re Hussein only seems likely to martyr him.

This, then, is yet another reason why i am not in favour of shrouding my "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis" with secrecy, lies, and obfuscations.

And term of reference d) contains a list of the participants at the 1986 "Vancouver Centennial Peace Festival" and one of the elements from my document copy submissions to them--some of which remain to be sent due to the continuing effect of the affixation on page 1. of this statement to you.
If you ever think i have been working at cross purposes to you and what defeated your prosecution of Oliver North, you must understand that the annotated passage underlines my central philosophy in my work...and by extension, my goal of not encouraging more so-called "terrorism" by the likes of the "Squamish Five" who, rather than being crazies or dedicated revolutionaries, were by and large from middle class Canadian backgrounds.
If the remainder of the document copy submissions to this list of indivieuals begun in March-April, 1986 after my two phone discussions with my friend Desmond Tutu of South Africa and my subsequent meeting with then-U.N. ASSISTANT SECRETARY-GENERAL Goran Ohlin (of this very list) must be made--and i firmly believe they must be--can we realistically think "everybody already knows everything about Iran-Contra" as Reagan insisted four years ago?
The answer is obvious.

The affixation on this page from the late Eugene Forsey, a Canadian expert, is relevant to the other page's affixation and Robin L. Higgins' article, "The Forgotten Hostage" (see 2) k) here) and my remarks about it in the original statement to you.
You see, sir, that representative work i prepared in 1978 on behalf of those certain Canadian authorities addressed all the major shortcomings Canadians found in present Prime Minister of Canada Brian Mulroney and his government's "Meech Lake Accord"--the constitutional package rejected by the Canadian people, contributing to the "present situation," if you will.
Item 3) 6. according to the list of registered letters sent to U.S. authorities to President Reagan was sent by me in part on behalf of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force and its then CHIEF, Jack Ackroyd, who sent a special representative to visit me at my home in Toronto at that time to ask me to write to Reagan on their behalf for his help to resolve the problems known to the police since 1977 created and nurtured by ignorance of my work (and the police awareness of it and role in my work and its goals) since that time. Reagan chose to ignore that request for his cooperation and there has been a suppression since of those 1978 documents.
