welcome to a new week! i just posted episode 347 - me with four songs, and a few haltingly expressed inspirations from deepak chopra and jiddu krishnamurti.

suffice it to say, the idea of perception, and the disparity between the inner world of feeling, and the outer one of facts and objectivity, interests me very much. i'm still thinking all of this through, experiencing it, distracted by it, etc. i suppose that will always be? in ways. maybe. but hopefully a future episode will find me more capable of saying it as it feels, and is.

welcome to monday, the month of may, and episode 345! tonight finds me in dream mode - literally and figuratively. for whatever reason, my dreams (at least the grown-up-me ones) are most often anxious and fraught, and generally of the mildly not-so-pleasant variety. it's strange, because i don't think i realized this fully until i was greeted, thankfully, by a wise, compassionate, peaceful, one.

i don't know what any of this means, or doesn't mean. or if dreams themselves have any connection to reality other than random synaptic free-association?? i can go either way with this. and do. but the feeling feels worth trying to convey nonetheless.

episode 344 is here! this week brings us a few more songs from kelly vogel, along with some thoughts about the je-nais-se-quoi-ness of songwriting, connection, inspiration, gratitude... which i guess is maybe also a way of saying love, hope, faith, trust, intuition?? and so on. something like that. i haven't said any of this very well, i know. i apologize. i'm thankful for your patience. and i'll keep trying.

episode 343 is here, along with brand new music from san francisco singer/songwriter kelly vogel. i've been a fan of kelly's songwriting ever since i first heard her perform years back at the bazaar cafe open mic, and i'm happy and honored she's allowing me to feature her songs on the podcast. kelly has an exceptional voice - both vocally and as a songwriter/lyricist - and her songs balance melody and phrasing in an exceptionally affective (+ effective) way. kelly's new project lessons unexpected has just been released. it's really good. and deserves your support.
