| Rolling Stock general information The methods and processes used have been developed or applied to ensure that the finished model is both accurate and durable and will provide years of service. Design documentation & decals: To retain the high standard all detail work is developed in CAD from existing original documentation where possible. The artwork for the decals are copied from original specifications and the livery colours are accurately reproduced. Shells: The shells are laser cut from aluminium sheet to ensure accuracy and repeatability. The shaped shells are finished in automotive quality paints that have been matched by spectrophotometary. Bogies & Trucks: The bogies or trucks are built using either Gary Raymond wheels for North American cars or Bruce Rudniki wheels for British Carriages. These are considered two of the finest insulated steel wheels available to our hobby. The axles are supported in inner side frames manufactured in a polyethylene bearing material. The outer detail is a casting that is fastened to the inner frame. The sides are mounted in a way that allows the bogie to react instantly to any unneveness in the track. Independent vertical movement of each wheel assures safe steady running at any speed. I am able to supply bogies or trucks in several designs. Couplings: Couplings are Kadee couplers throughout on North American cars but on British coaches the end coaches are fitted with three link couplings. Other arrangements can be fitted to customer's requirements. Carriage connections: The flexible carriage corridor connections are produced using rubber and resin castings. These are strong enough to remain in contact without interfering with the free running of the coach. Interiors: Where specified the interiors are detailed to a level that gives a good representation of the originals. Where possible interior colours are replicated as closely as availably information will allow and include carriage prints and mirrors where applicable. General notes All coaches and cars are capable of negotiating curves of a minimum of 8 feet radius. The exterior finish and materials are designed for continuous outdoor running. |
