Leaks and Thieves

| | Comments (0)

The door bell rings and I pick up the intercom to get, Hello mate, I`m the plumber where`s the leak?....

I am outside saying goodbye to the guys and persuading the Traffic Warden not to give them a ticket (sucsessfully)....

I went over to the car to see what they were so interested in.....

Here we go yet another day...
and I bid a good one to my readers.

The door bell rings and I pick up the intercom to get, Hello mate, I`m the plumber where`s the leak? so once I had stopped laughing I explained that it was a different sort of leak....as in it`s the roof that has a leak,
and that I personally told the person who answered the phone all the details, I then go downstairs to talk to him.

What? he says, are you sure it`s not the tank in the attic? No, I don`t have one,
I can see this cloud of confusion starting to form in the guys eyes, and can almost hear the cogs turning...when he then says, What? are sure? Yes there is water coming down the chimney breast and the rafters, Oh he says it might be a pipe?
NOOOoooo it`s the soddin roof and it`s either a broken slate or the flashing is knackered, oh--oh---OHHHHHHH!!!! sh*t and he gets on the phone....

It turns out that he is going to have to fix it himself and go back to the depot for the materials and take a guy off another job to come and help him.

They arrive and do the job...I felt sorry for them as they are usually working indoors and only have sweat shirts on,
They are working fifty feet up, in a windy street and the temperature was 5 C`, for around two hours..when they had finished one of the guys looked a distinctive bluish colour.

I asked one of the guys for some of the lead flashing, just a little bit, like a quarter of a metre...he gave me the whole roll :-) it must weigh around *3 stone....
Oh ...and I got the guy to put some sealant around my C.B. antenna where it sticks out through the hole I had to drill in the slates :-) Cheers Guys.

------------------

I am outside saying goodbye to the guys and persuading the Traffic Warden not to give them a ticket (sucsessfully) and this woman comes down the street shouting "Lucy Lucy"..."have you seen a little girl with a red coat and long blond hair in a ponytail"? Nope...meanwhile there are two of our thieving gits waiting for us to go so that they could break into a car...
So I called to them and told them to go and look for the little un` they says we`ve been here 5 minutes and havn`t seen anything, I said I was WELL AWARE of them being there...they went and had a look around.

They came back ten minutes later and were waiting to pounce on their target,
I called 999 and they have changed the way to report things...instead of giving a quick and accurate description, they want it done their way, which is slow, drawn out and being written down or typed even slower...the last call I made took 8 minutes, and I had a problem understanding the persons dialect, the robbers were well gone before the shout had even been put out...where as the old way would have taken 3 minutes.

So this time I ended up getting the call terminated when I said this is taking far to long, I might as well go out with a lump of wood and sort it out myself, Humph

As it was the Old Bill turned up and nicked one of them :-)

I went over to the car to see what they were so interested in,
On the passenger seat was a laptop bag open so that you could just see a bit of the laptop, some full A3/A4 jiffy bags and an attache case...Duh....

As a result of all this I didn`t get to go WiFi in town, so will have to post this from an internet cafe in Earls Court :-(

An hour later the guy that was nicked, came past where the car was parked but has now gone, and phoned his mate in an indignant tone of voice to say it wasn`t there anymore!!!! Cheeky little fuqs....

Thats about it for today, so TTFN.
