Lobby Labour MPs to accept the Lords' amendments to the Extradition Act 2003 in the Police and Justice Bill

Lobby your Labour Members of Parliament to accept the Lords' amendments to the Extradition Act 2003 in the Police and Justice Bill

Please lobby your Labour MPs to support the amendments to the Extradition Act 2003 passed by the House of Lords to the Police and Justice Bill, when it comes again before the House of Commons at Report Stage on the 9th and 10th of October 2006.

About 50 Labour MPs are required, as all of the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and most o fthe other minor Opposition parties are committed to support these amendments.

See www.notoextradition.co.uk

The Labour Members of Parliament who have signed Early Day Motion 241 did not (with one exception) actually vote for the Extradition Act 2003 Amendments when they had the chance to do so in the Commons, perhaps some of them will now vote the correct way this time if you lobby them in person, or in writing e.g. via www.WriteToThem.com:

N.B. Parliamentary Private Secretaries, are effectively on the Government gravy train (unpaid, but angling for future Ministerial office), and would have to resign such positions before voting against the Government

All of these Labour MPs abstained in the non-binding Emergency Debate prompted by the extradition of the Enron 3 bankers to the USA.
