Hi, great blog, keep it up.
Inspired by yourself and others, here is a google map where I have been recording the geographic location of the actions being taken by what looks like one of the worlds first fascist democracies (after a quote by Naomi Wolf) with information culled from yourself and many others.
Sousveillance - count me in :-)
I read the whistleblowers guide, phew. I suppose the provenience of your comments are totally open to all the world, but the thought of getting into all that was too much! And possibly too late also.
Thoughts and suggestions re: the google map are very welcome.
Regards.
Sousveillance.
Nice word.
Check my ISP. Fuckers.
@ Stray Taoist - abuses of photographers by real Police Constables are relatively rare, presumably because they are so rarely actually on foot patrol on the streets, due to the several hours a day of ACPO / Home Office imposed bureaucratic form filling.
There are dedicated Police Forward Intelligence Teams who aggressively point cameras in the faces of otherwise peaceful demonstrators and protestors, and who react badly to sousveillance, or when people try to obstruct their field of view with banners etc. See the Fitwatch blog for photos and details of arrests etc.
@ hieronymous - create, say, a simple blogspot blog page to point to your Google map, which will then be more easily accessible via search engine queries.
Count me in. My camera is coming with me everywhere from now on.
Of course with digital cameras, there are trivial methods to recover the pictures after deleting them too... (photorec etc)
Good plan wtwu, consider it done. :-)

Thanks for the feedback.
Great blog - funny how the police are becoming very twitchy about british citizens taking pictures by the seaside, but don't seem to mind tourists carrying half-a-dozen cameras around central london... evidently bad press for tourism isn't worth the risk, but pissing off your fellow countrymen isn't a big deal!
Have just been helping out on an interesting book that gives a bleak view of the future of the surveillance society that may interest readers of this blog. It's called Tracks, by Mike Gordon. Find out more info at http://www.tracksthebook.com.
Maybe I have posted this before: not long ago, there I was quite innocently walking from A to B along a narrow pavement next to a public road alongside a building to which I realised was pinned notices saying that it is a prohibited place. Other people were walking along that road as well, equally minding their own business. I could have reached out and touched the wall of the building. Its all a bit nonsensical to tell us that we must not be near such a place.
as a young adult studying photography i have personally seen an increase in people's opinion of using a camera in a public place. It is not against the law to use our camera's yet it stokes discomfort within the public!
Picture's explain news, tell stories and voice opinion! you read the magazine's, you watch the news yet a camera in a park is not allowed!
