Is there a problem with the 10 Downing Street website ?

We cannot seem to get through to the Prime Minister's official website either at

www.number-10.gov.uk

or

www.pm.gov.uk

We have tried several different ISPs and connections in the UK and around the world. You can ping and traceroute to the webserver(s) but they seem to be offline or are being blocked.

Is this the alleged Chinese hackers, or is it just another out of office hours cockup ?

Surely the Service Level Agreement for downtime has now been breached ?

Most of the other main UK Central Government websites seem ok at the moment.

Over an hour of downtime, at least, for the main Number 10 Downing Street website, so far.

The PM Petitions website, on a different machine entirely seems to be fine:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/

At least 2 hours of downtime on the Number 10 Downing street website - has anyone else noticed yet ?

The No. 10 Downing Street website seems to be back online, for now.

Probably an out of hours cockup. I had the same problem with the Department of Communities website last weekend.
