Spy Blog interview on Radio 5 Live - on the "Wilson Doctrine"
If all goes well with the editing, some time later tonight, Spy Blog will have joined the ranks of British Bloggers like Tim Worstall and and Guido Fawkes, by appearing on a segment of BBC Radio 5 Live's late night blogs and podcast show
The interview was prompted by our postings and discussions on the current "Wilson Doctrine" immunity of Members of Parliament from having their telephones tapped, and Sir Swinton Thomas, the Interception of Communications Commissioner and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
Our Freedom of Information Act request regarding the "Wilson Doctrine" might eventually clarify things.

If I were a senior member of the government, or even just a boring old back-bencher, I would expect that all my channels of communication - telephone and email - are being bugged 24/7 by the security services. If the security services aren't already doing that then they're not doing their job properly.
People in positions of authority have always spied upon each other, and tried to find out what others are muttering behind their backs in the corridors of power. Conspiracies. Plots. Scullduggery.

@ Bob - "I would expect that all my channels of communication - telephone and email - are being bugged 24/7 by the security services. If the security services aren't already doing that then they're not doing their job properly."
The Secret Service MI5 deny this, according to the " rel="nofollow">Myths section of their website:
If the Prime Minister has mislead Parliament over the "Wilson Doctrine", then that is, by convention a Resignation matter.

There are a large number of CCTV cameras now being used by the UK gov. Currently there are CCTV cameras on some of the uk's motorways that auto log car number plates, soon cctv will include face recognition (its already in its infant years), resulting in spying on the state. I believe that it should be possible for the public to spy back, and with more powerful computers and lower costs its getting easier, my web www.kgbcameras.co.uk and www.cctv-gadgets.com
Wireless camera shop - Wireless spy cameras available at kgbcameras! visit www.kgbcameras.co.uk for covert cctv!
