two upcoming shows

just want to make sure everybody knows about a few upcoming shows. if you're around san francisco, i'd love to share them with you! :) they are...

friday night - may 23 - 8pm
the red victorian - 1665 haight st. @ cole, san francisco - redvic.com
i'll be playing guitar for liz angelucci. this will be a really intimate and quiet set featuring liz's songs. if you don't already know liz, i hope you'll check her out at: elizabethangelucci.com. the red vic is a great cafe/restaurant venue. they've got food, drinks, and it's a great neighborhood for a friday night!

sunday night - may 25 - 7pm
bazaar cafe - 5927 california st., san francisco - bazaarcafe.com
i'm playing a combined acoustic set (including some of my songs!) with patrick kobernus and alex calder. bazaar is one of the best places in san francisco for independent singer/songwriters, and they've got plenty of great food and drinks to choose from. it's gonna be a a relaxing sunday evening with some great songs - and monday is a holiday!

my heart goes out to the family and friends of oakley hall. for those who don't know, he was an amazing california author, and passed away last week at the age of 87.

he will be missed.

sad news

i learned last night that brendan daly, owner and operator of ireland's 32, died suddenly late last week. needless to say, this is a very sad event for everyone who knew brendan, and for those who've had the opportunity to share in the music community he nurtured.

brendan has been very supportive of several of the bands i've played in over the past few years, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. brendan's longtime support of local san francisco music was deeply appreciated, and his passing is a huge loss for all of us. he will be missed.

blondie's show date change!

hey, just wanted to give an update on next week's show with liz angelucci - there's been a last minute date change, and we will be at blondie's this upcoming monday night aug. 20 (not sunday the 19th as previously scheduled). sorry for the inconvenience! i've updated both simplemuzik.com and myspace to reflect the change, so hopefully no one will be confused.

so, that's next monday night (august 20) - liz angelucci & me - at blondie's bar & no grill - 540 valencia st. (between 16th & 17th), san francisco, 8pm. i know it's the beginning of the week, but it would be wonderful to share the evening with you nonetheless!

i'll be playing with liz angelucci this upcoming tuesday night (may 15) at el rio - 3158 mission st. @ cesar chavez, san francisco, 8pm. it's a fun venue in the mission (same place nick g. and shirt played last month), + accessible by bart (24th st. is the nearest station). i know shows on school nights are hard to manage sometimes, but it would be wonderful to share it with you if you can make it!

utah!

thanks to everyone who came out to hotel utah last night to see the procrastinistas! it was a lot of fun to see everyone, and a total honor to play with wee the band and the barrie hart band. i was feeling a bit under the weather going in, but the spirit and energy of the audience definitely buoyed me. by the end of the night, i was feeling much better. :) thank you! below are some pics...
