welcome to episode 278! tonight’s podcast brings us a song by brent calderwood, a brand new (2012!) song by me, and a few thoughts about what it means to be original, thoughtful, and honest (amidst the very real possibility of the unintentionally achieving the opposite). the tightrope between hard work, failure, and growth, is an interesting one to me. i think anyone who’s tried to create something, or tell the truth, or love somebody else selflessly, understands this. it looks easy, but it never is.

as promised, this week brings us some poems. one from arthur rimbaud, and eleven from me. this is my virgin venture into reading my own non-musical stuff on the podcast, so i’m stepping gingerly. honestly, i’m not sure how it went. i'm nervous. that said, i feel lucky and happy to present some of my all-time favorite nick guerrero songs along with. nick’s stuff is worth checking out (even if you need to fast-forward through the poems to get to him). :)
