saying less

tonight's podcast continues the theme from last week - mainly, fewer words. not sure why exactly, but for lots of semi(seemingly)random corollated/tangential reasons, i'm feeling the need to be quiet. i hope and expect to be back next week with my top-ten movies of 2009, but, for now, episode 182 says things better than i can type here. it's a simple podcast: a song by nick guerrero, two evolving demos by me, and a few quick introductions...

i'm thankful that you're here, and wishing you well tonight.

russell

ten minutes or less

hello all,

episode 181 is here, happily, if barely. things've been quite non-stop for me the past week, which is good, but is also making podcast/thinking/slowing-down time scarce. alas, i did write a few new songs over the weekend, and recorded some rough demos... so, that's tonight's podcast - two demos + a few minutes of introduction. ten minutes in all. i apologize for the brevity, and for the obvious imperfection of the recordings. if all goes well, i will work on these songs more in the next few nights, and present (hopefully) more refined versions next week.

in the meantime, i hope everyone is well. my thanks go out to you for being here and checking in. it means a lot, and i hope you'll stay tuned. more to come! :)

love,
russell

saying it quietly

things're quite busy for me these days... which a mix of really good + stressful. it's mostly good. i'm growing in lots of ways, so i'm lucky. and thankful. and busy too. amidst this, i'm very happy to present episode 180. it's a simple little podcast featuring a new song + an old song by me, and (best of all) a new version of a song by san francisco singer/songwriter henry catalanich.

i've met lots of artists, through lots of years of doing music, and henry stands out as one of the most strikingly talented songwriters i've ever met. seriously. i hope this comes through. and i hope you'll visit myspace.com/henrycatalinich if you agree with me.

many thanks go out to henry for being open and sharing his music. and many thanks go out to you for being here. your time and interest and patience means the world to me.

really and truly,
russell

live from charleston

hello friends,

i'm back home, and happy to present episode 179 - a podcast from the road! it a simple half hour featuring a few songs from back 2006, some thoughts about the strange life-warp feel of traveling, change, awareness, growing up, listening. :) if all goes well, i will be back with some new music (+ new songs from others!) next week. in the meantime, below are some pictures from south carolina!

love,
russell
