The Texas Association of Vehicle Theft Investigators and the Dallas New Car Dealers Association (NCDA) are sponsoring the 3rd Annual Law Enforcement Day at the 2007 Dallas New Car Show on 3/15/2007 from 8am- Noon.  The event is open to all Texas Law Enforcement officers.  Officers can inspect new vehicles and familiarize themselves with VIN locations and new vehicle anti-theft systems.

If you decide to attend, you can just look at the new cars or take part in a free TCLEOSE credit educational course.  Officers who attend the training will receive two complimentary tickets to attend the auto show during normal hours.  To RSVP, please send your name, rank, department, assignment to dasncdajo@aol.com or call 214-637-0531.  If you sign up for the class, include your TCLEOSE #.  For further information, contact Detective Ken Mackenzie at ken.mackenzie@cor.gov

On 2/28/2007, the Carrollton Police Department and the Texas Police Association will be sponsoring a (8) hour TCLEOSE approved training event for police officers focusing on reducing underage drinking and intoxication assault and manslaughter. 

 

The first part of the training day will focus on identifying underage drinking parties, training on dispersing underage drinking parties, safely releasing underage party participants, and instruction on how to fairly enforce underage drinking laws.  Also, officers will be given guidelines on how to help build community coalitions aimed at preventing underage drinking in their communities.

 

The second part of the day will focus on responding to, investigating, evidence preservation, case preparation, and courtroom testimony relating to Intoxication Assault and Intoxication Manslaughter offenses. 

 

The course is for law enforcement officers only and are limited to first 100 applicants.  If you are interested please contact the Texas Police Association at:
